Hello -BABY?!?!?!?

Oh my oh my!

How life has changed since my last post! I have gone through the battlefield of becoming a mother for the last 9 months….and here we be - one week away from our due date!

WOW! That’s all I can say for now, what I have learned over these last few months I feel like I could write posts and posts on….but to bring you all up to speed…..here is where life has brought us….

1) Becoming a Mom

…..so I don’t feel like I can fully embrace that title yet, as our baby girl hasn’t made her arrival yet - but I daily marvel at how our human race has continued through the ages…as some parts of pregnancy are rough - like the, “my body hates all food, and anything and all things that bring you joy, and now you know what it feels like to be hit-by-a-mac-truck-and-survive” for weeks on end. Our pregnancy started a little rough - when we found out we were pregnant we initially saw a doctor that put us on some hormone replacement injections to ensure that our hormones were where they should be, especially after loosing our first baby. Now, our levels were still in a “good range” just low and we were given the option to use progesterone shots - a safe and natural hormone supplement that has some good studies that show it helps with continuing pregnancy - especially in people who have miscarried. ACOAG (American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology - the guiding force behind OB management in the US), has mixed data on if this supplementation can “save” a pregnancy that wouldn’t have made it, but they also don’t say it won’t work…so…. there is something crazy that happens in a mother’s heart when you are given the option to provide the best chance for your child - YOU WILL DO ANYTHING. So shots every few days in the behind, was what we did…for the first 10 weeks….that is something I hope and pray you all never have to experience…

While I’ve heard of many women not being bothered by them or only hurting a little, my body didn’t enjoy or accept them at all…so sparing you all the gory details, we stopped them as I was getting bad reactions and side effect from them…..and thankfully our pregnancy continued…

So here we are 39 weeks and oh so excited!

2) Work?!?!?!

Ahhhh, so there is something funny that happens when you go to school for a crazy amount of time…..and morning sickness finally goes away….you think wow, It might be fun to do a few odd jobs - here and there. Hahaha…so I have such a sweet, supportive husband who said “Sure honey, if it makes you happy do it!” So I ventured on a few job assignments close to home. From being camped out in a semi-trailer doing health physicals in a loading dock at a local factory to traveling and doing some emergency room shift work - I loved every second of it. Well accept the driving part….yeah I donned my husbands scrub pants - the cutest maternity t-shirt and that was my attire:-) I will say nothing is as uncomfortable as sitting in a car for an hour + with pants that are just too tight around your mid-section. Lets just say I prayed ALOT I wouldn’t get pulled over….because of my wardrobe modifications I had made…

Well…this is all for now…we are waiting for our sweet baby girl to come soon- walking 3-ish miles a day, drinking all the water and staying so so active is my game plan…but so far it’s not doing anything….come on baby girl!
